Galloway, N.J. - October 18, 2014 - The Springfield College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches in the final day of the Osprey Classic on Saturday afternoon.  The Pride suffered a four-game setback to host Richard Stockton before besting Kean University in four sets.

In the opener, Springfield fell to Richard Stockton by the set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-27, 25-22.  Lauren Holt (Granby, Conn.) led Springfield with 12 kills and six blocks, while Kelsey McGayhey (Shelter Island, N.Y.) added nine kills at a .500 clip to go along with three blocks.  Whitney Miller (Cuba, N.Y.) and Marnae Mawdsley (Bolton, Conn.) combined for 42 assists, and Amy Entel (Berkley, Mass.) totaled 20 digs.

In its fourth and final match of the weekend, the Pride rallied from dropping the first set to defeat Kean 16-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-22.  McGayhey was dominant in the win, hammering 16 kills while Jennifer Hurwitz (Longmeadow, Mass.) chipped in 10 kills.

For her efforts throughout the weekend, McGayhey was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Springfield will continue New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action this upcoming Tuesday when it travels to take on WPI at 7:00 pm.
