Orlando, Fla - March 14, 2016 - In the first match of its annual spring break trip, the Springfield College women's tennis team was defeated by William Smith College, 7-2, on Monday morning.  

The Pride dropped all three doubles outings, with the No. 3 team of Rachel Litchfield (Northbridge, Mass.) and Stephanie Foster (Woodbridge, Conn.) falling by an 8-6 decision.

Springfield's Melissa Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles, while Nicole Piazza (Portland, Conn.) registered a 6-4, 6-3 victory for the Pride at No. 6.

Springfield will be in action again on Tuesday morning when it takes on Wisconsin LaCrosse at 8:00 am.
