Northampton, Mass. & Amherst, Mass. – October 10, 2026 – The Springfield College women's tennis team wrapped up competition at the New England Women's Invitational Tennis Tournament (NEWITT), hosted by Smith and Amherst, on Saturday.
In the C Draw, Natalia Peyón (Discovery Bay, Hong Kong) and Ava Shea (Belchertown, Mass.) defeated Emerson College's Lily Roman and Alisa Pimenova. The Springfield duo then faced teammates Emalee Chiasson (Belchertown, Mass.) and Grace Taylor (Longmeadow, Mass.) in an all-Pride matchup, earning the victory to claim the C Draw Consolation Championship.
In the B Draw, Peyton Gaudreau (Branford, Conn.), Nadia Andrew (Newtown, Conn.), and Kapon Vettayawaikoon (Phuket, Thailand) defeated Trinity College's Ava Terefe and Avery Morris in the second-round consolation match.
In the D Draw consolation bracket, Anya Koshy (Goffstown, N.H.), Elizabeth Houdelette (Marion, Mass.), and Ali Von Puchl (Londonderry, N.H.) fell to Gordon College's Gianna Hallalm, Taite Dalberg, and Kathy Kim before bouncing back with a victory over Emerson's Abby Miner and Rachael Pantaleoni to claim the third-place South Draw back-draw championship.
The Pride are set to conclude the 2026 portion of their schedule at home when they host the Springfield Invitational on Saturday, October 17.
