Rushlow Earns All-America Honors in All-Around Competition at 2018 NCGA National Championships

Springfield, Mass. - March 23, 2018 - The Springfield College women's gymnastics team had one student-athlete compete in the 2018 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championships Team and All-Around Competition on Friday night in Blake Arena, and freshman Ali Rushlow (Worcester, Mass.) finished eighth overall to earn the first All-America honor of their career.

Rushlow, a Physician Assistant at Springfield College, produced an all-around score of 37.425 including a 9.750 on the floor exercise, a 9.450 on vault, a 9.250 on the uneven bars and a 8.975 on the balance beam.

This marks the 10th All-America honor under the direction of head coach Jenn Najuch, who is in the midst of her 3rd season at the helm of the Pride.

In addition to Rushlow competing on Friday night, former Pride gymnast Gina Gutierrez Bardua '02 was inducted into the NCGA Hall of Fame. Gutierrez Bardua '02 was a two-time All-American at Springfield College and a national champion on vault in 2002. 

Springfield College will now have eight student-athletes compete in the individual finals of the 2018 NCGA National Championships, which will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 4 p.m. in Blake Arena.
