Springfield, Mass. - August 21, 2025 - The Springfield College women's gymnastics team was recognized by Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) for their hard work in the classroom after posting a 3.7943 grade point average during the 2024-25 academic year.
The Pride produced seventh best grade point average across all divisions which was also the top grade point average in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) East and the second best in Division III.
Additionally, 16 Springfield College gymnasts were named WCGA Academic All-Americans. In order to qualify, a student-athlete must produce a 3.50 GPA or better during the academic year. Six of the 16 student-athletes tallied a perfect 4.0 GPA including
Cece Athie (Kansas City, Mo.),
Sarah Brownstein (Salt Lake City, Utah),
Brianna Cassin (Granby, Conn.),
Claire Geiger (Independence, Ky.),
Delaney LaViolette (Holden, Mass.), and
Julia Reer (Cedar Grove, N.J.).
Scarlette Ayakawa (Coppell, Texas ),
Maya Belog (Sturbridge, Mass.),
Elsie Gardiner (Tucson, Ariz.),
Sage Kaplan (Auburn, Mass.),
Ava Kelley (Mashpee, Mass.),
Ayako Maeda (Tokyo, Japan),
Paige Rossi (Coram, N.Y.),
Leah Spinney (Westford, Mass.),
Stacy Taylor (Biddeford, Maine), and
Lilly Thibeault (Saunderstown, R.I.) round out the rest of the student-athletes named WCGA Academic All-Americans.
