Worcester, Mass. - October 5, 2019 - For the second-straight game, the Springfield College field hockey team surrendered a fourth-quarter goal as they were defeated by WPI, 1-0, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Saturday at Rooftop Field.

The Engineers are one of seven teams in Division III without a loss and they improved to 10-0, 2-0, while Springfield dropped to 6-5, 0-3.  WPI held a 10-7 advantage in shots for the game, while Springfield was awarded six of the game's nine penalty corners.

A Bridget Sullivan (Wilmington, Mass.) goal with 6:13 left in regulation proved to be the game's only goal, as she knocked home a rebound to lift the Engineers to victory.  Ali Gannon (Fremont, NH) stopped four shots for WPI and Elizabeth Morehouse (North Attleboro, Mass.) turned away five for Springfield.

Springfield's Grace Levansavich (Auburn, Mass.) had four of Springfield's seven shots, including a bid just under six minutes into the third quarter that found the post.
