Springfield, Mass. - January 12, 2020 - The Springfield College women's gymnastics team hosted a quad-meet against Southern Connecticut, Brown, and Yale on Sunday afternoon in Blake Arena.
Yale won the meet with a team score of 191.525. Following the Bulldogs was Southern Connecticut with a score of 189.475 and Brown with 189.275 while Springfield posted a 182.3 team score.
Starting the afternoon on the vault, Taylor Jackson (Ocean, N.J.) posted the Pride's best score with a 9.4500 with Kaitlyn Lindsay (West Boylston, Mass.) earning a 9.2750.
In the bars exercise, six student-athletes posted scores for Springfield with Sara King (Maribor, Slovenia) producing a routine that scored a 9.1750 while Sarah Murphy (Norwell, Mass.) had the Pride's second-best score with an 8.9250. On the beam, Taylor Campagnone (Johnston, R.I.) put together a strong performance with a score of 9.5750 that placed the senior in a tie for sixth place while Sophie Parquet (Stow, Mass.) followed with a final score of 9.200 and King tallied a 9.1500 in the event.
Springfield had a pair of impressive performances on the floor from Campagnone and MacKenzie MacLeod (Kennebunk, Maine) as they earned scores of 9.7500 and 9.700 which placed them at third and fifth place, respectively. MacLeod also produced an 8.3500 on the vault.
Springfield will compete next Saturday at 12 pm as they travel to Brockport.
