The hosts ripped off a 10-0 start to open the contest as Rachel Mcmenemy scored a pair of buckets inside on back-to-back possessions, which forced a Springfield timeout with 7:11 remaining in the quarter. The Pride cut it to 14-10 with 1:38 to go as Stephanie Lyons (Boston, Mass.) kept the possession alive, which led to a Amanda Carr (West Haven, Conn.) bucket in the paint. Cerezmcha closed the gap to 15-13 with seven ticks to play as the first-year made one of two from the charity stripe to close out the first quarter.

The bucket from Daubon sparked a 9-3 run that allowed Springfield to take a 28-24 lead, which was capped off by a turnaround jumper in the lane from Czeremcha with 36 seconds on the clock, allowing the Pride to go into the break with the slight lead.

The Pride increased its lead to 43-33 as Dzindolet cashed in a three to give Springfield its largest lead of the game with 3:11 to go in the third. The Beavers would close in on the Pride over the remainder of the third quarter as Bauman scored three-straight baskets to bring the score to 45-41 to close out the third. In the fourth quarter, Dzindolet would knock in another triple giving Springfield a 51-49 lead with just under four minutes left, however, McMenemy rolled to the rim and scored inside tying the game at 51 a piece.
