Box Score Beverly, Mass. - September 28, 2022 - The Springfield College field hockey team traveled to Endicott College on Wednesday and was defeated by a score of 8-0.
The loss dropped Springfield to 2-6 on the year, while Endicott's record improved to 7-2.
Remy Niland (Marshfield, Mass.) faced 38 shots, including 15 in the final quarter, and finished the contest with 17 saves for the Pride. Springfield notched five shots in the game, with two coming off the stick from Audrey Bresciano (Greenfield, Mass.).
The Gulls opened up the scoring in the ninth minute and tacked on two goals four minutes apart late in the second quarter off rebounds to head into the halftime break with a 3-0 advantage. Endicott added a goal in the third with less 30 seconds on the clock and netted four in the fourth quarter, including two in the opening two-plus minutes.
Springfield continues non-conference play on Sunday when its hosts Nichols at 1 pm.
