Brockport, N.Y. - January 28, 2023 - In its third road meet of the 2023 season, the Springfield College women's gymnastics turned in another impressive outing on Saturday against Brockport and Ithaca.
All three teams were ranked in the top seven of the most recent NCGA National Rankings, as fifth-ranked Brockport delivered a 190.925 to win the competition. Springfield took second with a 187.025, while Ithaca rounded out the team scoring with a 186.025.
Springfield's highest-scoring event on the day was the floor, as it notched a 48.050. Christina Wygonik (Wading River, N.Y.) posted a career-best mark of 9.775 to finish as the runner-up in the event, while Devon Rosier (Hudson, N.H.) was credited with a 9.675 to tie for sixth place. Maya Belog (Sturbridge, Mass.) and Rae Anna Schutz (Mays Landing, N.J.) each registered scores of 9.575 to tie for 12th to bolster the Pride's team score.
On the beam, the Pride was earned with an event score of 47.050, with Belog leading the way as she tied for first following a career-best score of 9.750. Springfield would have three more student-athletes finish inside the top six of the event, as Rosier recorded a season-best score of 9.725 for third place, Winter Osborne's (Fairbanks, Alaska) score of 9.500 was good for fifth place, and Tori Sipes (Windham, N.H.) hit for a 9.475 to take sixth.
The Pride had a team mark of 47.275 on the vault as Annie Kiley (Taneytown, Md.) was once again the Pride's top performer with a 9.575. Belog chipped in a season-best mark of 9.500 of her own and Sage Kaplan (Auburn, Mass.) scored a 9.475. On the uneven bars, Springfield finished the event with a 44.650, as Sipes scored a 9.375 and Wygonik turned in a 9.150.
Springfield will compete at home for the first time this season on February 5 when it hosts Ithaca.
