Ithaca, N.Y. - February 4, 2023 - The Springfield College men's track and field team competed in the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational on Saturday afternoon in their fifth meet of the season.
The Pride went up against host Ithaca, as well as SUNY Cortland, Oneonta, and Susquehanna University in a non-scoring meet.
Ricky Perruzzi (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) started out the day for the Pride at the 5000m run, where he would clock in at 16:37.93. In the mile, Scott Dunbar (Wilbraham, Mass.) placed highest for the Pride, with his pace of 4:58.36, while Sal Migliore (Beacon, N.Y.) put in a strong performance at the 400m dash, as he sprinted to a 54.29.
Anthony Penta (Southington, Conn.) nabbed a fourth-place finish in the 60 meters off of a 7.05, his fastest time of the season. Over at the 200m, Angel Martinez (Framingham, Mass.) would do well, as he finished in 23.74, with Penta right behind him clocking in at 23.86.
Over at the triple jump, David Cataloni (Attleboro, Mass.) would capture a top-five finish, as he leaped for a mark of 13.03, which awarded him fourth place. Cataloni would also place well at the 60m hurdles, where he would put in a sixth-place finish, crossing the line at 8.63. Jamie Cocca (Sand Lake, N.Y.) put in a solid performance at the weight throw, as he heaved the weight for a result of 15.62m.
Alex McKenney (Ossining, N.Y.) finished the best for the Pride at the pole vault, as he would go over the bar at the 3.96m mark. Colby Wilson (Tewksbury, Mass.) jumped for another top-three finish, as he would grab third place at the long jump, as he leaped for a mark of 6.63. Adam Mula (West Townsend, Mass.) finished off the track events well for the Pride, as he came across the line for a 9:21.14 time in the 3000m. Later in the afternoon Mason Yusko (Fairport, N.Y.) achieved third place with his high jump of 1.91.
The Pride will travel to Boston University next weekend to take part in Dave Hemery Valentine's Invitational on Saturday, February 11.
