Springfield, Mass. – May 5, 2023 – Several members of the Springfield College men's track and field team opened up competition at the 2023 New England Division III Championships on Friday afternoon.
The Pride had two student-athletes score in their respective events en route to all-region honors to highlight Friday's efforts. John DeRosa (Shelton, Conn.) ran the 10,000 meters in 32:20.46 as he took sixth and Daniel Criscio (Seymour, Conn.) placed eighth in the javelin after delivering a throw of 54.54 meters
In the 100 prelims, Evan Weber (Purchase, N.Y.) turned in the fastest time in the race with a 10.64, while teammate Anthony Penta (Southington, Conn.) also qualified for the finals with a 10.85, with was the fourth-quickest time.
David Cataloni (Attleboro, Mass.) ran in the 110 hurdles and posted a 15.35 to take 12th, while Jamie Cocca (Sand Lake, N.Y.) hurled the hammer a distance of 44.59 meters to finish in 18th and Colby Wilson (Tewksbury, Mass.) represented the Pride in the long jump and produced a leap of 6.60 meters to take 13th.
