Springfield, Mass. – October 8, 2024 – The Springfield College women's tennis team picked up its first win of the season as it prevailed over Endicott, 5-2, on Tuesday at Appleton Courts.
Springfield picked up the doubles point after delivering two wins. After the Gulls were first off the court with a 6-2 win at No. 1,
Kelly McGoldrick (Monroe, N.Y.) and
Natalia Peyon (Hong Kong) responded with a 6-3 win at No. 2 before
Alysa Elliott (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) and
Ava Shea (Belchertown, Mass.) clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 triumph at No. 3.
McGoldrick added a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 4 spot in singles, while Shea was victorious by a score of 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6.
Kapom Vettayawaikoon (Phuket, Thailand) delivered a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2 and
Ramida Manataweewat (Thailand, Bagkok) battled her way to a 6-1, 5-7, 11-9 triumph at the No. 1 singles spot.
Up next, the Pride will host the Springfield Invitational on Saturday.
