Ithaca, N.Y. – February 3, 2024 – A pair of program-record performances highlighted the Springfield College men's track and field team's efforts on Saturday as they competed in the Bomber Invitational at Ithaca College on Saturday.
Michael Scott (Shoreview, Minn.) won the 60 meter dash with a record-breaking time of 6.85, which bested the previous mark of 6.86 that Stephen Headley ran in 2008.
Mike Anderson (Cromwell, Conn.) also took fifth in the 60 meter hurdles in 8.49, but it was his prelim time of 8.35 that tied a school record that was established in 2019 by Damian Mackay-Morgan.
Anik Dole (Dubai, UAE) also had a strong showing the 60 meters with a 7.00 to finish in third and
Dante Lingley (Westbrook, Maine) was impressive in the 200 as he placed third with a 22.57. In the 400,
Sam Polley (Feeding Hills, Mass.) registered a 52.01 and
Brady Cote (South Hadley, Mass.) and a 2:09.71 in the 800.
Jeremiah Singer (Barnstable, Mass.) notched a 4:51.36 in the mile and
Chris Vayda (Southampton, Mass.) was strong in the 3000 and took third in 8:58.38.
In the high jump,
Jamil Manu (Manchester, Conn.) took fourth with a height of 1.82 meters and was also eighth in the long jump with his distance of 6.34 meters.
Daniel McGlashan (Haverhill, Mass.) produced a leap of 12.37 meters in the triple jump, while
Conor Daley (West Springfield, Mass.) led the way in the throws with a 11.63 in the shot and a 11.36 in the weight throw.
On Saturday, the team will travel to Boston University for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
