State College, Pa. - March 2, 2024 - The Springfield College men's gymnastics program traveled to compete against a Big Ten opponent for the second-straight meet as it battled with Penn State on Saturday. The Pride was credited with a team score of 381.650, while the host Nittany Lions turned in a 403.100.
Peyton Cramer (Grapevine, Texas) was impressive again on the pommel horse as he won the event after turning in a 14.300.
Felix Kriedemann (Strasslach, Germany) took fifth with a 13.450 and
Sam Kaplan (Fairhaven, Mass.) added a 12.750 for a top-eight finish as Springfield posted a 63.900 as a unit.
On the floor,
Owen Carney (Sterling, Mass.) returned to the lineup and scored a team-best 13.250 and
Will Wilson (Montgomery, Ala.) tacked on a 12.900 as the duo took fourth and fifth.
Timothy Templeton (Maynard, Mass.) also registered a 12.850 to help the Pride score a 63.800 as a team.
Wilson had the Pride's top score on the rings with a 12.800, followed by
David Handron's (Pittsburgh, Pa.) sixth-place score of 12.500 and Cramer's mark of 12.450.
Dominic Ramalho (Hollis, N.H.) and
Tyler Beekman (Bedford, N.H.) highlighted Springfield's efforts on the vault as they tied for fifth with a 13.950 and
Evan Reichert (Oswego, Ill.) and Carney added 13.550's as Springfield notched a 67.700 on the event.
Beekman had the Pride's best mark on the parallel bars as he took fourth with a 13.700 and
Noah Dhaliwal (South Orange, N.J.) registered a 12.650, while Kaplan recorded a 12.750 to take fifth on the horizontal bar, followed by Dhaliwal's seventh-place score of 12.400.
Next Saturday, Springfield will head to New York for a tri-meet at Army with William & Mary.
