Worcester, Mass. - April 13, 2024 - The Springfield College women's tennis team put together an impressive showing as it blanked Clark, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference meeting.

The Pride lifted its record to 3-9, which includes a 3-2 mark against conference opponents.

In doubles, Alysa Elliott (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) and Kelly McGoldrick (Monroe, N.Y.) prevailed by an 8-0 victory at No. 3, while the team of Ramida Manataweewat (Thailand, Bangkok) and Kapom Vettayawaikoon (Phuket, Thailand) and  Veronica Fulgieri (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) and Kate Rosselli (Trumbull, Conn.) produced 8-2 wins at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. 

Springfield received 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles from Mantaweewat, Fulgieri, and Elliot at No. 2, 3, and 4, while McGoldrick notched a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5.  Vettayawaikoon took the win at No. 1 by a 6-2, 6-0 margin and Natalia Peyon (Hong Kong) added a 6-0, 6-2 triumph of her own at No. 6. 

Up next will be a meeting with MIT on Tuesday at 3 pm on Appleton Courts.
