Springfield, Mass. - April 17, 2024- The Springfield College men's tennis team was bested by Coast Guard, 7-2, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) meeting on Wednesday afternoon at Appleton Courts.
The loss evens the Pride's conference record to 3-3 on the year.Â
In doubles play, Springfield earned a victory at No. 3 as the squad ofÂ
Phakin Thongbooncharoen (Bangkok, Thailand) andÂ
Ethan Gomulka (San Bernardino, Calif.) cruised to an 8-2 triumph. Gomulka nearly pulled off his comeback at the No. 5 singles spot before he was clipped by a 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 margin, whileÂ
Zach Taub (New Windsor, N.Y.) continued to impress at the No. 6 spot with a 7-6, 6-3 triumph.Â
On Saturday, Springfield will conclude the regular season when it takes on Babson.
