Springfield, Mass. - April 7, 2024 - The Springfield College women's tennis team earned its second conference victory of the weekend as it powered past visiting Salve Regina, 7-2, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action at Appleton Courts. 

The Pride picked up a pair of wins in doubles as Ramida Manataweewat (Thailand, Bangkok) and Kapom Vettayawaikoon (Phuket, Thailand) cruised to an 8-1 win at the top spot and the duo of  Veronica Fulgieri (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) and Kate Rosselli (Trumbull, Conn.) prevailed by an 8-2 margin at No. 2.

In singles play, the hosts picked up five victories in straight-set fashion.  Vettayawaikoon posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 and Mantaweewat added a 6-2, 6-0 triumph of her own at No. 2.  Alysa Elliott (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) prevailed 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 and Kelly McGoldrick (Monroe, N.Y.) bested her opponent at No. 4 by the scores of 6-3, 6-0.  Emma Aberle (West Warren, Mass.) was also victorious for Springfield at No. 6 as she recorded a 6-1, 7-5 victory. 

Springfield will clash with Nichols in a non-conference showdown on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
