Game 1 - Babson 4, Springfield 1
The Pride received a tremendous start on the bump from
Conor Caverly (South Berwick, Maine) as he gave up just one hit in six innings of work while striking out nine. After setting the Beavers down in order through the first four innings, Springfield allowed three runs in the fifth despite not allowing a hit as the hosts took advantage of two wild pitches, two walks, and an error.
Babson tacked on an insurance run in the eighth on a pair of singles, and the Pride's rally in the ninth would account for a run as
Michael Barrett (Longmeadow, Mass.) drove in
Adam Fine (Wynnewood, Pa.) who led off the frame with a base knock ro right.
Game 2 - Babson 10, Springfield 3
Springfield would account for 11 hits in the second contest as
Michael Barrett,
Adam Fine, and
Ryan Duffy (Stafford Springs, Conn.) each produced a pair of hits.
The Pride would commit three errors in the second inning as Babson accounted for the game's first run, only to have the visitors register four hits in the third inning en route to a pair of runs. After Duffy opened the frame with a single and Fine followed with a double, both
Mark Nofri (Naugatuck, Conn.) and
Nicholas Lloyd (Easthampton, Mass.) ripped base knocks through the right side to plate runners.
The lead was short lived as Babson responded with five runs off five hits in the bottom half the third as it delivered three doubles to open up a 6-2 advantage. The hosts added two more runs in the sixth and seventh before the Pride's final run of the season game on a ground out from Duffy which scored
Jack Dunaisky (Longmeadow, Mass.), who started off the eighth inning with a double to left.
