Wellesley, Mass. – October 22, 2025 – The Springfield College women's soccer team beat Wellesley, 3-0, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Wednesday afternoon.

Springfield improved to 6-8-0 overall and to 5-3-0 in the NEWMAC, while Wellesley dropped to 6-7-2, 3-4-1.

Molly Baxter (Pleasantville, N.Y.), Jessica Perry (Deep River, Conn.), and Avery Ford (Wethersfield, Conn.) found the back of the net for the Pride this afternoon with Natalia Mottura (Scarsdale, N.Y.) earning an assist in the win. Baxter's goal was her first of the season.

The Pride were awarded a corner kick in the 15th minute of the game which Mottura took and found Baxter wide open at the opposite post to give Springfield the lead.

Perry scored about six minutes later when she fired a shot from outside of the box that found the top left corner of the net.

In the 66th minute, Ford rebounded a shot off of a corner and tapped it in to put the Pride up three.

Wellesley held a 16-15 edge on shots while Springfield led 6-4 on corner kicks. Mairead Marsden (Amsterdam, N.Y.) had three saves in the win.

Springfield will host Emerson College in a NEWMAC showdown on Saturday evening at 6:00 pm on Brock-Affleck Field.
