Springfield, Mass. – October 28, 2025 – The Springfield College women's volleyball team defeated Clark University in straight sets by scores of 25-9, 25-9, 25-19 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action tonight in Blake Arena.
Springfield, which entered tonight's match 33rd in the NCAA Power Index rankings, improved to 21-5 and to 8-1 in NEWMAC play, while Clark fell to 1-20, 0-9.
Ahunna James (Plainville, Mass.) hit .533 with nine kills to lead Springfield on the night. Both
Emily Keaveney (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and
Alexa Bonato (Orange, Conn.) produced six kills apiece, while
Aubrey Hughes (Liberty Hill, Texas) registered five kills for the Pride.
Tori Colosimo (Fairport, N.Y.) tallied a double-double with 29 assists and ten digs in addition to five aces and three blocks. Keaveney also notched six of Springfield's 12 aces on the night.
Tied at four in the first a block from Colosimo and
Jodi Saelua (Mililani, Hawaii) started a 6-1 run pushing the Pride ahead 9-5 early on. After Clark got a point back, a solo block from Hughes and an ace from Colosimo ignited a 12-1 run that saw Bonato record a pair of kills in addition to Springfield having three blocks for a 21-7 advantage and forcing Clark to call a timeout. Down the stretch,
Arrington Carr (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) registered her first collegiate kill en route to the 25-9 set one win.
Springfield opened the second with nine straight points including four consecutive aces by Colosimo. Clark was able to muster four points early in the set, but a swing through the middle by Saelua made it 14-6. Late in the set, four consecutive aces by Keaveney forced Clark to call a timeout with the score at 23-9. A kill from Carr and an error from Clark finished off the second, 25-9.
A kill from Bonato knotted the score at 11 in set three before seven Clark miscues and a kill from Keaveney eventually made it 19-15 in favor of Springfield. Out of a timeout, Springfield picked up its 20th and 21st points on errors before a swing by Keaveney made it 22-15.
Aurissa Boardman (Brooklyn, Conn.) gave the Pride match point before a kill from Colosimo completed the sweep for the Pride, 25-19.
Springfield will travel to Salve Regina University next Tuesday for its final regular season road game of the campaign. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
