Newport, R.I. - October 4, 2025 - The Springfield College women's soccer team defeated conference opponent Salve Regina this afternoon, 2-1.
The Pride improve to 3-6-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the conference while the Seahawks drop to 3-6-1 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play.
Mu Kue (Hartford, Conn.) notched her first goal of the year while
Mallory Forgatch (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) had nine saves in the win.
Springfield got on the board in the 11th minute when Kue took a free kick from outside the box and buried it in the top right corner of the goal.
Just three minutes later,
Kaitlyn Suller (Oviedo, Fla.) connected with
Rosie Turbett (Wallingford, Conn.) who headed the ball toward
Meredith Healy (Niantic, Conn.) for Healy to score.
Salve Regina threatened when they scored off of a corner in the 58th minute, but the Seahawks could not get another one past the Pride.
The Seahawks held a 19-12 edge on shots while also leading 5-2 on corner kicks.
Springfield will host Coast Guard on Wednesday for a 7:00 pm matchup.
