Springfield, Mass. - November, 22, 2025 - The Springfield College women's basketball team dropped a non-conference game to Hartford, 63-57, on Saturday afternoon in Blake Arena.

The Pride drop to 4-2 while the Hawks move to 2-2.

Amanda Leary (Westbury, N.Y.) and Natalie Lucas (Madison, Conn.) had 13 points and six rebounds apiece, while Leary had three steals. Madison Lopez (Bronx, N.Y.) had 11 points and three rebounds and Claire Finney (Haverhill, Mass.) had nine points, five rebounds, and two steals.

Hartford went on an early run to take a 9-2 lead just four minutes into the game. The Hawks continued to add to the score after going on an 11-5 run to lead 20-9 going into the second quarter. Lucas had six points in the first.

It was a slow start to the second quarter as there was a three minute stretch of no one scoring until Ava Naszimento added two more pints for the Hawks. Springfield started to work some baskets in, but Hartford led by 13 going into the halftime break.

The Pride shot their best in the third quarter going 50-percent from the floor and closed Hartford's margin to under double digits. Springfield got out to a 9-0 run to bring the lead within four, but Hartford answered quickly with an 11-0 run going into the final quarter, 48-39.

The fourth quarter started with two and a half minutes of neither team scoring before the two sides exchanged a few baskets. Springfield looked to go on a small run, but it wasn't enough as Hartford took the win, 63-57.

Hartford shot over 50-percent from the floor and beyond the arc while shooting 7-for-12 (58.3-percent) from the charity stripe. Springfield shot 35-percent (21-for-60), 21.1-percent (4-for-19) from three-point range, and were 11-for-14 (78.6-percent) from the free throw line. The Hawks edged the Pride 32-31 on rebounds.

Springfield will travel to Williams on Tuesday for a 5:00 pm matchup.
