Springfield, Mass. – November 8, 2025 – The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team defeated Wheaton College, 146-143, and fell to Coast Guard, 201-95, in a double dual meet on Saturday morning inside Art Linkletter Natatorium.
Springfield's 400-medley relay of
Lizzy McMahon (Rensselaer, N.Y.),
Natalie Norbut (Bristol, Conn.),
Lena Thompson (Bow, N.H.) and
Olivia Schwenger (Beacon Falls, Conn.) began today's meet with a fourth place finish in 4:18.08.
Thompson went on to have a strong meet for the Pride placing second in the 100-fly in 1:02.18 and third in both the 50-free (25.54) and 100-free (56.64), while Norbut was Springfield's fastest swimmer in the 200-breast in 2:43.74 and McMahon was Springfield's fastest swimmer in the 100-back in 1:03.10 and the 200-back in 2:21.51.
Norbut, McMahon,
Kylie Nordenstrom (Blaine, Minn.) and
Emma Savoie (Milford, Conn.) wrapped up the meet with a third place finish in the 400-free relay in 4:00.39. Savoie was Springfield's top swimmer in the 200-free in 2:11.04.
Avery Van Tassel (Bay Shore, N.Y.) posted a fourth place finish in the 100-breast in 1:15.11, a fourth place finish in the 200-IM in 2:28.58 and a sixth place finish in the 200-breast in 2:44.30 behind Norbut.
Elizabeth Santos (Chicopee, Mass.) swept both boards in the diving well posting a first place score of 264.46 on the 3-meter board and a first place score of 267.53 on the 1-meter board. The Pride went 1-2-3 on the 1-meter board as behind Santos was
Bridgette Hogan (Marshfield, Mass.) with a 250.96 and
Olivia Dragon (Wilbraham, Mass.) with a 220.44. Santos' 1-meter score eclipsed the NCAA Diving Regional qualification mark, while her 3-meter score was just 0.54 points shy of doing the same.
Springfield will travel to Williams for a double dual with the host Ephs and Wesleyan University next Saturday at 1:00 pm.
