Springfield, Mass. – February 1, 2025 – In its final home dual meet of the 2024-25 season, the Springfield College women's swimming and diving team defeated Trinity College (Conn.), 114-109, on Saturday in Art Linkletter Natatorium.
Springfield produced wins in three swimming events and one diving event to edge out the Bantams for its seventh dual meet win of the campaign.
Natalie Chamberlin (Ellington, Conn.) registered a first place finish in the 200-free in 2:02.24 and also recorded a runner-up finish in the 100-free in 56.92, while
Maddie Symecko (Plantsville, Conn.) posted a win in the 100-back in 1:02.91 and
Natalie Norbut (Bristol, Conn.) tallied a win in the 500-free in 5:37.96.
Symecko,
Nina Lamb (Killingworth, Conn.), Erin Kelaher (Tucson, Ariz.) and Norbut combined for a second place finish in the 400-medley relay in 4:08.59, while Chamberlin,
Emma Savoie (Milford, Conn.),Norbut and Lamb took second in the 800-free relay in 8:26.73.
Lamb went on to finish second in the 100-breast in 1:05.73, while Kelaher went on to finish second in the 50-free in 26.12 and third in the 100-fly in 1:03.86.
Gianna Farina (Easton, Pa.) paced Springfield with a pair of second place finishes on the day in the 200-IM in 2:24.80 and the 100-fly in 1:03.84 to round out the swimming highlights for Springfield.
In the diving well, Springfield swept the top-three places in both disciplines.
Elizabeth Santos (Chicopee, Mass.) won the 1-meter board with a score of 423.30 and was followed by
Annabel Culbreth-Loomis (Pelham, Mass.) in second (419.47) and
Bridgette Hogan (Marshfield, Mass.) in third (384.24), while Culbreth-Loomis won the 3-meter board with a score of 415.42 and was followed by Santos (399.46) and Hogan (391.81).
Springfield will travel to Babson for its final dual meet of the year next Saturday at 11:00 am.
