Springfield, Mass. – March 7, 2025 – The Springfield College men's lacrosse team fell to No. 20/RV Endicott College, 11-9, on Friday evening in non-conference action on Stagg Field.
Endicott remained unbeaten and is 4-0 on the season, while Springfield fell to 1-3 facing its third nationally-ranked opponent of the year.
Jake Degnan (Mahopac, N.Y.) led the way for Springfield with a hat trick in addition to four ground balls.
Brady Soldo (Shrewsbury, Mass.),
Rory Scanlon (Maple Grove, Minn.) and
Riley Burgmyer (Somers, Conn.) all chipped in with two goals apiece for the Pride.
Vincent Scialdone (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) won ten face-offs and scooped up a team-best five ground balls, while five different Springfield student-athletes caused one turnover.
Endicott's offense was powered by Colt Green, who notched five of the Gulls 11 goals. Nick DiSalvo led the Gulls defensively with five ground balls and five caused turnovers, while Thomas Barker won 13 face-offs at the X.
As a team, Endicott held advantages in shots (47-40) and ground balls (34-32) and also went near perfect on the clear succeeding on 25-of-26 attempts. Springfield was 19-for-22 in transition.

Degnan opened the scoring just 12 seconds into the game off a feed from Scialdone before Curtis Redd's goal knotted the score at one. After Jack Fiorillo put Endicott ahead 2-1, Soldo and Degnan gave Springfield the lead right back at 3-2 through 15 minutes of play. Degnan's second of the quarter came off a full field length pass from Quirk. The teams traded goals going into halftime even at five.
Unassisted strikes by Burgmyer and Soldo put the hosts ahead 7-6 early in the third, but a goal from Green and a strike from Cam Fernandez put Endicott back in front 8-7 with just 15 minutes to play.
Scanlon struck for the equalizer less than five minutes into the fourth, but Tommy Tyksinski netted back-to-back goals off feeds from Guerin Favreau including one on the man-advantage to give Endicott an edge it wouldn't relinquish. Burgmyer and Favreau traded goals, but the visiting Gulls came away with the 11-9 win.
