Springfield, Mass. – June 5, 2025 – Springfield College softball graduate student
Callie Gendron (Berlin, Conn.) and junior
Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region teams following an outstanding 2025 campaign for the Pride in 2025.
Gendron was placed on the NFCA All-Region II First Team, while DeRosa earned a spot on the NFCA All-Region II Third Team. This marks the second straight All-Region nod for Gendron and the third for DeRosa. Previously, Gendron was a second team selection in 2024, while DeRosa earned first team accolades in both 2023 and 2024.
In 45 games this spring, Gendron registered a batting average of .446 and led the team in hits (58), home runs (5), RBI (41), walks (29) and on base percentage (.547). Gendron also set new career highs in every statistical category and was among the leaders in the conference in every offensive stat this year. Gendron also had a career-best .989 fielding percentage behind the plate for the Pride. The graduate student ended her career with 13 home runs, 114 RBI, 152 hits and a batting average of .359 in 146 career games on Alden Street.
DeRosa played and started in 44 games this spring both in the field and in the circle for the Pride. As a pitcher, DeRosa went 11-9 with a 3.12 earned run average in 22 starts over 128.0 innings. The junior pitched 13 complete games, including one shutout, and struck out a career best 66 batters in 2025. At the plate, DeRosa batted .342 to go along with 54 hits, 15 doubles, two triples, 20 RBI and scored 40 runs. Going into her senior season, DeRosa is just ten hits shy of 200 as only four other student-athletes have reached that mark in their collegiate careers on Alden Street.
Gendron, who was selected to the 2025 NFCA Player of the Year Watchlist, also earned All-Conference First Team accolades from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) in 2025. DeRosa was also a NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honoree in 2025.
Springfield capped its 2025 season with a record of 30-15 and appeared in its first NCAA regional championship tournament since 2017. Springfield has only reached 30 wins seven times in Division III program history including this year as well as 2000 (30), 2001 (41), 2003 (33), 2017 (32) and 2023 (35).
