Beverly, Mass. - September 16, 2025 - Junior setter
Tori Colosimo (Fairport, N.Y.) became the ninth student-athlete in program history to reach 2,000 career assists as she guided the Springfield College women's volleyball team to a three set sweep at Endicott College this evening.
Springfield, which improved to 7-2 this fall, defeated the Gulls by set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-23 and handed Endicott its third loss of the season.
Colosimo dished out 22 assists to eclipse 2,000 career helpers this evening and also posted two kills, five digs and an ace to her stat line.
Ahunna James (Plainville, Mass.) and
Aubrey Hughes (Liberty Hill, Texas)both notched seven kills, while James and
Jodi Saelua (Miliani, Hawaii) both led the Pride with four blocks on the night.
Olivia Nealy (Athens, Ga.) and
Vanessa Gude (Eldersburg, Md.) registered double digit digs with 11 and 10, respectively.
Springfield held a 13-11 lead in the first following an ace from Hughes and an error by the Gulls, but the hosts ripped off seven of the next eight points for a 17-14 advantage and eventually led 20-17. A kill by James cut Endicott's run and ignited four straight points which included a pair of aces by
Delaney McGee (Holden, Mass.) to take the lead back 21-20. Then tied at 21, a kill from
Alexa Bonato (Orange, Conn.) sparked four straight points for the Pride as Springfield won the first 25-21. In addition to the kill from Bonato, a kill from James and a block by James and Saelua highlighted the set ending run.
In a back and forth second stanza, Springfield hit a match best .267 (11-3-30) with James leading the way with a trio of kills. Tied at 18, Bonato once again sparked a lengthy run - this time 7-2, ultimately ending the set, 25-20. After Bonato's kill, Keaveney swung twice for points for the Pride, Hughes added a kill and an ace by
Karenna Allain (Woodbridge, Conn.) secured the stanza.
The third set featured ten ties with the final one coming at 18. From that point, Springfield embarked on a 6-0 run thanks to four errors by the Gulls as well as an ace by Colosimo and a kill by Hughes setting up match point at 24-18. Endicott answered with five straight points of its own to make it 24-23, but one final error by the hosts ended the match giving Springfield the set 25-23 and the three set sweep.
Springfield will head to Hoboken, New Jersey for the Stevens Quad beginning on Friday evening. The Pride will play the host Ducks on Friday at 7:30pm followed by matches against Oneonta and Sarah Lawrence at 11:30am and 3:30pm, respectively, on Saturday.
