Springfield, Mass. - September 15, 2025 - The Springfield College men's soccer team beat Saint Joseph (Conn.), 3-2, in a night game on Brock-Affleck Field
The Pride improve to 4-2, while the Blue Jays drop to 2-3.
Connor Policarpio (Bristol, Conn.) recorded a goal and an assist.Â
Talan Bradley (South Kingstown, RI)Â scored the first goal of his career, while
Aidan Hallinan (New Windsor, N.Y.) notched his first goal of the season.Â
Springfield struck first, just four minutes into the game when
Thomas Quiterio (Ludlow, Mass.) passed to Policarpio at the top of the box who buried it in the bottom left corner.Â
The Pride continued to put pressure on the Blue Jays defense and were awarded a corner after Saint Joseph (Conn.) tried to clear the ball. Policarpio sent a beautiful ball near the back post for Hallinan to score.
Saint Joseph scored their first goal of the night after Nico Hamzavi crossed the ball to Emmanuel Ofori who was able to finish, and put the Blue Jays within one.Â
With less than three minutes to play,
Parker Gustine (Old Lyme, Conn.) passed the ball into open space at the top of the box for Bradley to run onto it and score to give the Pride some cushion.Â
Ofori scored again in the 89th minute, but it was too late for the comeback.Â
Springfield outshot Saint Joseph (Conn.) 21-9 and also had five more corners than the Blue Jays.
Noah Pote (Washington, Conn.) had two saves.Â
The Pride will host Emerson in their first conference matchup on Saturday at 4:00 pm.Â
