Springfield turned the tides in the third as back-to-back kills from Bonato began the comeback for the visitors. Up 7-4, a swing by Hughes through the middle ignited an 11-2 run as Springfield led 18-6 and ultimately ran away with the set to force a fourth. Springfield hit a match-best .448 in the third with 15 kills on 29 swings as the kills were evenly distributed with Jodi Saelua (Miliani, Hawaii) leading the way with four. The Pride went ahead by as many as 12 at 22-10 following a block from Hughes and Keaveney paving the way for a kill from Hughes, an ace from Colosimo and an error from Wellesley to win the set, 25-13.

Wellesley jumped ahead quickly 4-2 in the fourth, but two straight kills by Keaveney and back-to-back aces from Nealy initiated another lengthy run for Springfield - this time 11-2 - to take a commanding 13-6 lead. Up 14-11, a Bonato kill sparked a run of eight straight points for the Pride which finished with two straight aces from the service line by Hughes to put Springfield within three points of forcing a fifth. The hosts got four points back before an error and two kills by Bonato completed the fourth, 25-17, pushing the match to the fifth.

The fifth set, which was the first fifth set played between Springfield and Wellesley since 2018, went back and forth until Springfield took a 6-5 edge. A swing by Keaveney launched a run of six straight points for the Pride. Keaveney recorded kills on four of Springfield's next eight points  before a pair of attack errors by Wellesley secured the reverse sweep for the Pride.
