Springfield, Mass. - September 6, 2025 - The Springfield College women's soccer team was defeated by Hartford, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Pride drop to 0-3 while the Hawks improve to 2-0-1.
Hartford got on the board in the first half when Cameryn Wilkinson scored on a cross from Kathleen Brush.
In the second half, Springfield came out with a quick goal less than a minute in to put pressure on the Hawks.Â
Kayla McGrath (North Adams, Mass.) dribbled the ball over midfield to connect with
Olivia Beach (Cheshire, Conn.) who sent a ball to the top of the box for
Katie McFerran (Selkirk, N.Y.). McFerran split the defenders and buried the ball in the bottom left corner to equalize the score. This is her second goal of the year.
The Hawks then came back on attack mode scoring two goals within five minutes of one another and adding their fourth goal with less than ten minutes left in the game, making it out of reach for the Pride.Â
Hartford outshot Springfield 20-10, but had only one more corner than the Pride. Goalkeeper
Mallory Forgatch (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) had five saves on the day.Â
The Pride will travel to Wesleyan (Conn.) on Tuesday for a 5:00 pm start.Â
