Springfield, Mass. - January 21, 2026 - The Springfield College baseball team alongside head coach Chad Shade '20 unveiled the 2026 schedule with opening day set for March 1 with a home doubleheader against Amherst.
FULL SCHEDULE
The Pride will play a 38-game schedule which includes 16 contests from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and 22 non-conference opponents. Four of Springfield's opponents appeared in the 2025 NCAA DIII Baseball Championship including Farmingdale State, Keene State, RPI and Salve Regina. A season ago, the Pride won 14 games which included a sweep against Babson for the first time in 13 seasons.
Springfield will have seven-straight home games to start the 2026 season with the opener being a doubleheader on March 1 against Amherst. The Pride will then host Western New England on March 4 and Worcester State on March 6. The Pride will host Williams on the 7th for a doubleheader and MCLA on the 10th for a single game.Â
The Pride will travel to Brandeis for a single game on March 11 before the team heads to Auburndale, Fla. for the RussMatt Invitational. Springfield opens up the trip with a doubleheader against Salem State on March 15 before playing single games against UMSV on the 16th, Farmingdale State on the 17th, Hamilton on the 19th, and Augustana on the 20th.Â
When Springfield returns home, it hosts Keene State on March 25 before heading to Elms on March 26. The Pride will open up NEWMAC play with a doubleheader at home against Emerson on March 28 and will then host Castleton for a single game on the 31st.Â
The month of April opens with a non-conference game against Curry on the 1st before the Pride head to Wheaton (Mass.) for a doubleheader on the 4th. Springfield then hosts Coast Guard on April 7 before going on the road for seven consecutive contests. The Pride will to Western New England for a single game on April 8th before playing a doubleheader at Clark on April 11. They then play a single game at Coast Guard on the 14th and a doubleheader at Salve Regina on the 18th. Springfield finishes up its away stint on the 20th against Framingham State.Â
Springfield will be back home on April 21 to play Babson before traveling to RPI on the 22nd. The Pride then hosts WPI for a doubleheader on April 25 and will then travel to Babson on the 28th to finish the series. They will then travel to Johnson & Wales for a single game on April 29th before closing the regular season out with a doubleheader at home against MIT.
The NEWMAC Tournament is set to start on May 7 and a champion will be crowned on May 10. The higher seeded team will be named the host in each round and the winner of the NEWMAC title will earn the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament.
