Springfield, Mass. — October 6, 2026 — A goal from Aidan Hallinan (New Windsor, N.Y.) would be the difference maker as the Springfield College men's soccer team defeated Hartford in a nonconference matchup on Tuesday night, 1-0.
The Pride improve to 4-6-1 overall while the Hawks drop to 4-4-2.
Tommy Fenton (East Hampton, Conn.) recorded five saves in the shutout win. Springfield held a 16-13 advantage in shots while both teams were even in corner kicks with two apiece.
It was an evenly matched game between the Pride and the Hawks as neither team could get one to go through the whole first half. Hartford recorded just six shots on goal while Springfield registered five and neither team notched a corner.
In the 57th minute, a blocked shot from Connor Policarpio (Bristol, Conn.) deflected back to Hallinan who took a touch and then sent a screamer into the back of the net from way outside the box to put Springfield ahead. Ater the defense continued to stay strong, Hallinan's goal would ultimately be the game winner as the Pride took the win, 1-0.
Springfield heads to Salve Regina on Saturday for a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup at 6:00 pm.
