Springfield, Mass. – February 10, 2026 – Ahead of the 2026 season, Springfield College junior
Jake Degnan (Mahopac, N.Y.) has been named to the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-America Honorable Mention Team.
Degnan, a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American and New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athlete of the Year in 2025, returns for his third year on Alden Street. Degnan produced 40 goals and 15 assists for 55 points for the Pride a season ago leading Springfield in both goals and points.
Degnan was just one of two student-athletes selected for Preseason All-America honors from the NEWMAC as he was joined by Seamus Rooney of Babson College on the Honorable Mention Team.
In 2025, Degnan and the entire Springfield College men's lacrosse team completed a undefeated schedule in the conference for the first time since 2016 and hosted the NEWMAC title game on Stagg Field against Babson. Degnan produced four goals against both Emerson and Western New England and recorded hat tricks in eight of 17 contests a year ago.
Springfield, under the direction of first-year head coach Sean Quirk, will open its 2026 slate on February 21 at No. 16 Stevens Institute of Technology before returning to Alden Street for its home opener on February 26 against Union College.
