Women's Basketball Rolls Mount Holyoke, 63-33, in Wednesday Night Matchup

South Hadley, Mass. - February 11, 2026 - The Springfield College women's basketball team beat New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Mount Holyoke on Wednesday night, 63-33. 

The Pride improve to 14-8 overall and 5-3 in the NEWMAC while the Lyons drop to 4-18, 0-8. 

Claire Finney (Haverhill, Mass.) led the Pride with 14 points while Amanda Leary (Westbury, N.Y.) had 13 points and six rebounds. Natalie Lucas (Madison, Conn.) had 11 points and Ruth Boles (South Portland, Maine) had eight points while Stefany Padula (Franklin, Mass.) had five points, five rebounds and two steals. 

Springfield shot 41.4-percent from the floor and were 13-for-16 from the charity stripe. The Pride scored 32 points in the paint while the Lyons held a 42-39 edge off the glass. 

The Pride jumped out to an early lead going on a 14-0 run that left the Lyons scoreless for over six minutes. Springfield held Mount Holyoke to only two points from Taryn White at 3:20 with Leary led the Pride with eight points in the first quarter, 18-2. 

Springfield's dominance continued to show in the second quarter as the Pride took a 20-point lead going into the halftime break, 35-15. The team shot 16-for-31 (51.6-percent) from the floor and scored 16 points from 11 Mount Holyoke turnovers through the first two quarters. 

It was a slow start to the third quarter as the teams exchanged a few baskets before they were scoreless for close to three minutes. The Lyons only scored six points in the third quarter as the Pride went on to outscore them 15-6.  Leary and Lucas had five while Padula hit a trey to make it 50-23 going into the final quarter. Six different student-athletes - including four off the bench - scored in the fourth quarter for the Pride as Springfield went on to defeat Mount Holyoke 63-33. 

The Pride host Wellesley on Saturday for a 1:00 pm start in Blake Arena.
