No. 1 Men's Volleyball Dismantles No. 11 Wentworth in Straight Sets

Springfield, Mass. - February 14, 2026 - The No. 1 Springfield College men's volleyball team dismantled No. 11 Wentworth in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-15 on Saturday night in Blake Arena. 

The Pride improved to 8-1 overall and have won eight straight matches including six consecutive over ranked opponents, while Wentworth was handed just its second loss of the season (8-2).

Sam Levinson (LaGrange, Ill.)  and Carter Durivage (Greenbush, N.Y.) both registered 11 kills and hit well over .500 on the night, while Nathan Goh (Germantown, Md.) hit .368 and posted nine kills and Brennan Cutter (Trumbull, Conn.) posted five kills on nine errorless swings. Richard Eber Jr. (Hummelstown, Pa.) notched a team-best five aces, while Dylan Mulvaney (Reston, Va.) dished out 31 assists. Defensively, Ricardo Ortiz (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) posted a team-best eight digs.

Springfield, the nation's best hitting team this season, hit .461 with 39 kills on 76 swings. 

It was a back-and-forth start to the set, but once the Pride took a 5-4 lead - which was highlighted by three kills from Cutter - they never looked back. Wentworth was forced to take a timeout after a block from Eber Jr. and Durivage and four straight points for the Pride, 10-5. After the timeout, Goh registered five kills to propel Springfield forward before a service error from Wentworth gave the Pride to take the first set 25-16 after notching 17 kills and hitting .452 in the opening stanza.

Springfield trailed 16-15 midway through the second but a block by Goh and Eber Jr. ignited a run of nine straight points for the Pride. The run was highlighted by four aces from Eber Jr., three blocks from Cutter and Levinson and a block from Eber Jr. and Goh. Springfield opened up the second set with a kill from Durivage and while the Pride took the early lead, Wentworth responded and never let Springfield take a more than a three point lead. The Leopards then took the lead at 11-10 after a kill from Alem Dubcak and forced Springfield to take a timeout after a kill as Wentworth led, 14-12. As in the first, a service error secured the second set for the Pride, 25-17.

The Pride jumped out to an early 4-2 lead in the third after back-to-back kills from Durivage and never looked back. Two straight service aces from Cutter made it 9-4 before kills from Levinson and Wentworth errors pushed the Pride ahead, 14-8. Springfield went on 9-4 run at the end highlighted by kills from AJ Seveland (Jenkintown, Pa.), Durivage and Goh to finalize the set, 25-15 and the match in straight sets.

Springfield will travel to Lasell next Wednesday for a 7:00 pm match.
