Bennington, Vt. - February 28, 2026 - The Springfield College men's tennis team opened up the 2026 campaign on Saturday afternoon, falling to nationally-ranked No. 19 Williams, 7-0. The match was played indoors at the Bennington Tennis Center in Vermont.
Williams registered its first win of the season as Springfield took its first loss of the year as the Pride drops to 3-1 overall.
The Ephs eased their way through No. 1 and No. 2 doubles back-to-back 6-0 wins, but Springfield gave Williams a battle at No. 3 as
Tim Norin (Stockholm, Sweden) and
Ethan Gomulka (San Bernardino, Calif.) ultimately fell by a 6-4 final.
Williams won all six of its singles points with the only close decision coming at No. 5 from
Liam Huppke (Markham, Canada ) as he fell 6-3, 6-2 to Robert Cooper.
Springfield will head to Hartford, Conn. on Sunday afternoon to face Trinity.
