Clermont, Fla. - March 18, 2026 - The Springfield College softball team split with Geneseo and No. 12 Simpson in an afternoon doubleheader at the Legends Way Complex.

Reilly Hunter (Wallingford, Conn.) led the Pride at the plate going 5-for-6 with two runs scored, a double and a stolen base over the two games including a 4-for-4 performance against the Knights.Â
Game 1: Springfield 7, Geneseo 6 (8 Innings)
Geneseo scored in the top of the first with an inside the park homerun before a triple from Kate Katsetos (Brewster, N.Y.) brought in Brynlee Eckles (Ellington, Conn.) and Hunter to take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Knights went on to equalize in the top of the second before adding three more runs in the third and the fifth to go up 5-2.Â
Madison King (Burlington, Mass.) scored in the bottom of the sixth on a single from DeRosa before a single from King brought in Hunter and Katsetos to tie the game at five and force extra innings. Â
Molly Griffin scored for Geneseo in the top of the eighth before DeRosa came up and plated Taylor Falotico (Windsor, Conn.) and Haley Ball (Westbrook, Maine) to walk off the Knights, 7-6.Â
Game 2: No. 12 Simpson 13, Springfield 0 (5 Innings)
Simpson dominated the whole game right from the start as they scored two runs in the top of the first. The Storm continued to roll and put up eight runs in the second and two in the third for the eventual 13-0 win.Â
Hunter and Christina Vlahakis (Rockville Center, N.Y.) had the only two hits for the Pride. Marina Cronin got the win in the circle for Simpson as Cronin did not let up a hit, run and struck out two.
