Orlando, Fla. - March 18, 2026 - The Springfield College women's tennis team defeated William Smith on Wednesday afternoon at the Sanlando Tennis Center, 4-3.
Springfield improves to 3-2 with the win and will face Trinity (Conn.) tomorrow at 3:00 pm.
Peyton Gaudreau (Branford, Conn.) and Ava Shea (Belchertown, Mass.) won at No. 2 doubles, beating Mae Kellersman and Bethany Walker 6-4 as the only doubles team to win for Springfield.
The Pride went on to win four of the six singles matches with three won in straight sets to power Springfield to the eventual 4-3 win. Gaudreau took No. 1 singles with scores of 6-1, 6-0 before Alysa Elliott (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) won 7-6, 7-5 at No. 4 and Natalia Peyón (Discovery Bay, Hong Kong) won at 6-2, 6-2 No. 2. Kelly McGoldrick (Monroe, N.Y.) then won at No. 5 singles by scores of 6-4, 2-6 and 6-0.
