Beverly, Mass. – March 6, 2026 – Endicott College outscored the Springfield College men's lacrosse team, 9-2, in the second half as the Gulls topped the Pride, 17-9, in a non-conference matchup on Friday night from Hempstead Stadium.
Endicott picked up its third straight win over an opponent from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and improved to 4-0 on the season, while Springfield dropped to 2-2.
Matt Webb (Northport, N.Y.) led Springfield with three goals and two assists for five points on the night, while
Ryan Berkel (Sudbury, Mass.) posted a pair of goals.
Bryan Stensrud (LaGrangeville, N.Y.),
Patrick McGowan (Haverhill, Mass.),
Michael Kuziak (Simsbury, Conn.) and
Jake Degnan (Mahopac, N.Y.) also all added solo strikes for the Pride. Tommy Tyksinski recorded six goals for Endicott as him and Nick Grapp combined for nine of the Gulls' 17 tallies tonight.
Dominic Savastano (South Salem, N.Y.) scooped up a game-high eight ground balls for Springfield, while
Owen Dawson (South Hadley, Mass.) caused a team-high three turnovers for the Pride. In net,
Ian Cote (Lake Stevens, Wash.) and
Joseph Grenier (Cheshire, Conn.) combined for 11 stops for the visitors, while Endicott keeper Gio Panicola made 13 saves to earn the win.
Endicott held a 36-32 edge in ground balls and went 26-for-31 in transition, while Springfield won 13 faceoffs and went 19-for-28 on the clear.
Endicott took an early 3-0 lead over the opening eight minutes of play before Degnan put Springfield on the board off a feed from Stensrud for the Pride's first score of the game at the 6:14 mark. Springfield went on to post four of the next five goals to end the first up 5-4. Down the stretch of the first, Kuziak, Webb, Berkel and Stensrud all found the back of the cage for Springfield.
Webb notched the first goal of the second before McGowan scored on the man-advantage pushing Springfield ahead 7-5, but a goal from Tyksinski ignited a run that saw Endicott outscored Springfield by a 12-2 differential over the final 38 minutes of tonight's contest. Endicott claimed the game by a 17-9 final.
Springfield will welcome NESCAC rival Colby College to Alden Street on Sunday for a 12:00 pm non-conference tilt from Stagg Field.
