Hartford, Conn. – April 8, 2026 – The Springfield College women's tennis team picked up 7-0 non-conference win at the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Wednesday afternoon.
Springfield, now winners in three of the last four contests, improved to 6-4, while the Blue Jays fell to 6-10.
The Pride eased by Saint Joseph's in all three doubles contests.
Peyton Gaudreau (Branford, Conn.)teamed up with
Ava Shea (Belchertown, Mass.) for a 6-0 win at No. 1, while
Erica Jud (Glen Head, N.Y.)and
Alysa Elliott (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) earned a 6-1 win at No. 2. In a much closer matchup,
Catie Seklecki (Southwick, Mass.) and
Kelly McGoldrick (Monroe, N.Y.) won by a 6-4 final at No. 3.
All six singles contests were decided in straight sets. Gaudrau topped Maddie Rossetti, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, while Jud earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 and Elliot surged for a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3.
Natalia Peyon (Discovery Bay, Hong Kong) and Shea won by duplicate 6-0, 6-1 scores at No. 4 and No. 5, while
Elizabeth Houdelette (Marion, Mass.) won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 to complete the 7-0 non-conference victory.
Springfield will travel to Emerson College for a NEWMAC tilt on Saturday at 11:00 am.
