Weston, Mass. - April 11, 2026 - The Springfield College women's tennis team defeated New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Emerson on Saturday afternoon, 7-0. 

The Pride improve to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in the NEWMAC while the Lions drop to 4-9, 0-5. 

After dropping the match at No. 1 doubles, Peyton Gaudreau (Branford, Conn.) and Ava Shea (Belchertown, Mass.) won at No. 2 doubles with a score of 6-2 while Erica Jud (Glen Head, N.Y.) and Alysa Elliott (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) defeated Jayden Beverly and Anna Matsuura 6-2 at No. 3 doubles. 

Springfield defeated the Lions in straight sets in all six singles matches. Gaudreau shutout Teah Login at No. 1 singles, winning by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Kapom Vettayawaikoon (Phuket, Thailand) won at No. 2 by scores 6-3, 6-4 and Jud defeated Abigail Miner at No. 3 by scores of 6-1, 6-0. Elliott won by scores of 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4, Kelly McGoldrick (Monroe, N.Y.) won by scores of 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5 and Natalia Peyón (Discovery Bay, Hong Kong) won at No. 6 by scores of 6-1, 6-4. 

The Pride play host to Salve Regina tomorrow at 11:00 am.
