Anderson, DeFosse & McGlashan Punch Tickets to 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Springfield, Mass. – May 18, 2026 – Three student-athletes from the Springfield College men's and women's track and field programs have earned the opportunity to compete against the nation's best as they have qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held on May 21-23 at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.

Junior Mike Anderson (Cromwell, Conn.) will be making his third trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships (two outdoor, one indoor) after qualifying in the 110-meter hurdles. Anderson's time of 14.18-seconds is seeded 17th in the group of 22 student-athletes and is only one of two from the New England region in the event as he is joined by Josh Wilkie of Tufts. Anderson is the program record holder in the 110-meter hurdles, a mark he set this spring at the UMass Commonwealth Invitational on April 11.

Senior Daniel McGlashan (Haverhill, Mass.) will be making his first career trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships after qualifying in the triple jump. McGlashan's mark of 14.65-meters (48 feet, 0.75 inches) is seeded 20th in the group of 22 student-athletes and is joined by NEWMAC rival Sean Huckleberry in the event. McGlashan qualified in the event last weekend at the AARTFC Outdoor Championships at Ursinus College and is just over two feet shy of the Springfield record that is held by Abe Davis from 1974.

Junior Katherine DeFosse (Worcester, Mass.) will be making her third trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships (two indoor, one outdoor) after qualifying in the 100-meter hurdles. DeFosse's time of 13.82-seconds is seeded seventh in the group of 22 student-athletes and is one of three student-athletes from New England to be selected. She will face off against Aryianna Garceau of UMass Boston as the two met at this year's Indoor National Championships back in March. DeFosse rewrote history earlier this spring as her 100-meter hurdles time that she ran at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships broke a 40-year old record that was held by Janet Williams from 1986.

Anderson and DeFosse are slated to compete on Friday at 4:05 pm and 4:25 pm, respectively, while McGlashan will have to wait until Saturday for his NCAA debut as the triple jump is expected to take place at 11:00 am. Results and live video for the entire meet can be found on NCAA.com.
