Northampton, Mass. – Saturday, September 19 – The Springfield College men's cross country team finished second as a team at the 2026 Ellen O'Neil Invitational, hosted by Smith College.
 
Babson won the meet with 29 points while the Pride followed with 63 points, Clark with 76 points, Hudson Valley with 77 points and Albany College of Pharmacy with 148 points. 
 
Gabe Schaeffer (Selinsgrove, Pa.) led Springfield, finishing in 7th with a time of 27:04.0 on the 8000m course. Elijah Quinn (Holyoke, Mass.) followed in 10th at 27:14.8, with Josh Martin (Vernon, Conn.) close behind in 14th at 28:17.8. Ayden Collura (Rocky Hill, Conn.) placed 17th with a time of 28:51.0, and Ryan Ortoleva (Old Lyme, Conn.) rounded out the Pride's scorers in 19th at 29:05.2.
 
Corey Christensen (Rocky Hill, Conn.) was next to cross the finish line, placing 20th with a time of 29:09.4. Zachary Chasen (Cheshire, Conn.) followed in 24th at 29:53.5, and Austyn Neidel (Glastonbury, Conn.) finished 26th at 30:46.0. Slade Harding (Malden, Mass.) finished with a time of 30:57.5, followed by Ryan Mateus (Ludlow, Mass.) at 31:38.8.
 
Eli Burt (Topsham, Maine) came in with a time of 31:53.0, with Matthias Cambi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) close behind at 32:16.2. Liam Treuel (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and Alan Redford (Wallingford, Conn.) rounded out the pack with times of 32:43.5 and 35:16.6, respectively.
 
Springfield will race at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday, October 3 in Keene, N.H.
