Norton, Mass. – November 22, 2008 – The Springfield College women’s swimming and diving team cruised to a sweep of Wheaton and Keene State in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon.
Springfield handled Wheaton by a score of 190-109 and downed Keene State, 175-123.
Aimee Doe continued to swim well for the Pride as she picked up a win in the 1,000 free in a time of 10:58.43. Freshman Kaitlin Reilly touched first in the 200 free in 2:00.41, continuing her impressive first year for head coach John Taffe.
In the 100 breast, Moira Price touched first in 1:08.73, while Meredith Trumbull won the 200 butterfly in 2:16.10. Price also won the 200 I.M. in 2:18.18 and finished second in the 100 free in 56.67.
Springfield dominated the diving competition as Meghan Kijanka, Michelle Reggio, and Courtney Keefe took the top three spots on both boards. Kijanka posted a 242.77 on the three-meter and a 230.39 on the one-meter as she won both boards.
SC closed out the meet with a win in the 200 free relay as Reilly, Jaclyn Van Waalwijk, Kallie Pottle, and Doe touched in 1:41.76.
The Pride will hit the pool on Sunday at 12:00 pm when it hosts Middlebury.
