Springfield, Mass. – November 23, 2008 – The Springfield College WomenÂ's swimming and diving team picked up a 159-135 victory over Middlebury College on Sunday afternoon at the Art Linkletter Natatorium.
To begin the meet the Pride picked up an impressive victory in the 400 medley relay as teammates Kallie Pottle (Brewer, Maine), Moira Price (Berkley Heights, N.J.), Kaitlin Reilly (Cumberland, R.I.), and Aimee Doe (Haverhill, Mass.) combined for a victory with a time of 4:05.92. To follow that win up, Meghan Sisson (Plainville, Conn.) claimed a victory in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:05.02.
The trio of Doe, Price and Reilly each had outstanding performances to help lead the way for a Springfield victory. Doe claimed victory in the 200 freestyle (2:00.02) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:23.70). Price won the 50 yard breastroke with a time of 32.41 and followed that up with a 100 yard breastroke victory (1:09.98). Reilly continued her outstanding freshman season for the Pride as she won the 100 butterfly (1:01.75) and the 50 yard butterfly (27.25).
In the diving competition Meghan Kijanka edged teammate Michelle Reggio, by a score of 241.51 to 241.20 in the 1 meter competition. In the 3 meter competition, Kijanka finished second with a score of 232.65.
Springfield WomenÂ's swimming will return to action Friday, December 5, when they travel to the TCNJ invitational.
