Springfield, Mass. – April 11, 2009 – The Springfield College men’s tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback at the hands of conference-foe Babson on Saturday afternoon in a key New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match. Due to rainy conditions, the match was moved indoors at Springfield College’s Field House.
Springfield’s No. 1 doubles team of Andrew Constant and Trevor Romanzi picked up a win as they won 9-7 in the top doubles match. Springfield then only had one remaining winner as Babson won five of the six singles matches. SC’s Tim Tunis pulled out a win at No. 4 singles by a score of 5-7, 6-4, (10-7 super-tiebreaker).
