No. 15 Babson Blanks Men's Tennis in Final Match of the Regular Season

Babson Park, Mass. - April 18, 2026 - The Springfield College men's tennis team was defeated by New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent nationally-ranked No. 15 Babson in its final regular season match on Saturday afternoon, 7-0. 

Babson improves to 16-4 overall and 7-0 in the conference while Springfield drops to 10-7, 5-2.

The Beavers swept all of the doubles matches including getting a shut out win at No. 1 doubles. Angelo Guzman (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and Liam Huppke (Markham, Canada) fought at No. 3, but ultimately fell to Martin Mejia and Louis Bourn, 7-5. 

Babson then went on to win all of the singles matches as Huppke fought hard at No. 4 singles, losing to Venkat Batlanki 6-2, 6-4. 

The third-seeded Pride will head to second seed MIT on Friday for the semifinal round of the 2026 Men's Tennis NEWMAC Tournament.
