Marlborough, Mass. - April 14, 2026 - Springfield College men's tennis first year Austin Prendiville (City Beach, Australia) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week.
Prendiville was dominant this week for Springfield going 6-0 overall and 4-0 in singles play leading the Pride to a trio of wins and locking up a top-three seed in the upcoming NEWMAC Tournament. In singles play alone, Prendiville picked up wins over Anthony Gregoire of Coast Guard (#2, 6-1, 6-0), Connor Leung of Emerson (#2, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2) and Kole Pinto of Salve Regina (#2, 6-1, 6-1). He also picked up a singles win against Farmingdale State on Thursday.
Springfield hosts MIT on Wednesday at 2:30 pm on the Appleton Tennis Courts.
