Worcester, Mass. – October 18, 2010 – The Springfield College women’s tennis team wrapped up the fall portion of its season with a 7-2 win over Clark in New England WomenÂ's and MenÂ's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) womenÂ's tennis action on Monday afternoon at Corash Tennis Courts.
Clark ends its season with a 4-8 record, while the Pride concludes their season at 4-6 overall. Both teams miss out on the NEWMAC tournament which begins on Wednesday.
Springfield took two of the three doubles matches behind Erin Woodbury and Siana Green at No. 3, who defeated Olivia Levine and Maggie Swann, 8-1.
Clark freshman Gaby Suriano continued her impressive run through NEWMAC competition with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Amy Shaw at No. 1.
The Pride rolled in straight set victories the rest of the way in singles action, highlighted by Sam CarneyÂ's 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2.
